Everyone loves kittens…that is, every cat lover loves kittens. So when there are kittens up for adoption at the shelter, usually they are adopted pretty quickly, unless they are black. Multi-color younger adults also have a good chance of finding a forever home. Adult blacks, especially if they are rather large, are the last to be adopted. Sadly, that is a fact.... Meet Floppy Ears!

I look like a Scottish Fold kitty, because of my ears.
But I am a DHS tabby, and when Paula rescued me I had
hematoma in both ears after surgery,
and they both fell the way you see them...I'm so cute!

I'm 4 years old, and I love to eat!

I love to talk and be loved on, in any position.

I think I'd be best in a one cat home.

I'm fully vetted and can't wait to have a new home.

Greetings!  I've never emailed just to ask you to read a blog post I've written--but I'm doing so today to share my response to a new book out this week called Cat Wars: The Devastating Consequences of a Cuddly Killer, which advocates the wholesale slaughter of cats in the name of "wildlife conservation efforts." Believe it or not, the book is published by the Princeton University Press--so it would be wrong to dismiss it lightly as the mostly-ignored ravings of a fringe nut-job. That it's become more acceptable, within the realms of science and mass media, to call for a genocide of domestic cats ("by any means necessary") at the precise cultural moment when TNR efforts have finally gained mainstream awareness and approval is not, I think, an unrelated coincidence. We're coming up on a holiday weekend, so I won't take up too much of your time!  You can find the piece I've written by clicking on this link, or you can go to HiHomer.com and find the article there.   I don't ask that you share my blog post.  But I do ask that you share your own views on cats, and the morality of treating them humanely, loudly and with a full heart. It has been a long year of recovery for Andy. As of today, he is happy and healthy ~fully vetted by our rescue vet~ and he is ready for his new life at a safe and loving forever home. He's a true love bug!

Black Cat Saved!

While at the CCSPCA High Kill Shelter I noticed this black kitty at the shelter,
with a note on the kennel card "Aggressive"
... plus had been marked to be put down. 

I was able to hold her with no issues. 

I made a phone call to a possible adopter that was waiting for a black kitty.
Told her about this one. She said YES! 

I pulled this kitty, and now it has left the shelter
and is now is at her new forever home (as a foster until spayed).
Then will become their kitty forever!

We love happy endings!

Saving Isabelle...

Another senior 12 years old making it out of CCSPCA High Kill Shelter today! 

Safe/Adopted 💜 Has already left our rescue to her new forever home! 

Didn't think we would have this beauty very long. 

Was adopted right after pulling her from the shelter today.

We love happy endings!

Thank you to all our followers, supporters towards our efforts to saving a life of a cat from a High Kill Shelter.

Being the CEO/Founder of a rescue can be very sad in all we face when daily walking through a High Kill Shelter.

Walking through a high kill shelter, seeing the paws reaching out to you for help in saving their life. Just who do you choose knowing their life is in your choice? It’s over whelming at times. With so many waiting to know if they will make it out or will die at the close of a shelter that day.

We are a small rescue that works 24/7 in saving a life.

We are blessed with an amazing vet that goes the extra mile to help our cats we rescue that need medical care. There are times I call our rescue vet in tears of a cat in need of medical help. Our amazing vet will come into his office on his days off to help our cats. He will stop what he is doing at his office to take our cats in for medical treatment.

Dr. LeBeuf with Kings Canyon Veterinary Foundation has been our rescue vet since 1999!

We are an advocacy organization that is dedicated to the protection of cats, and specifically follow a no-kill advocacy. We rescue as many cats as our funding allows, in particular those cats that are in high kill shelters that only have less than five days to survive.

We strive to promote progressive polices for cats in communities that know nothing about feral cats, #TNR, spay/neuter, or only have high kill shelters. We also further our outreach by helping those people in communities who are interested in starting a TNR program. As we move forward, our outreach will expand.

Please if you pledge on our posted cats/kittens, please honor your pledges. Our rescue doesn’t run on grants. We are totally funded on donations to help our rescue cats/kittens.

Donations and Our Rescue
Animal rescue, and in our case: Cat Rescue is dedicated to pet adoption.

We take unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray cats and attempt to heal them, either with loving care or medical care. Whatever they need, we provide it to the best of our ability.

Eventually we find suitable safe and loving forever homes for them. It is hard work, and sometimes heartbreaking. But we prevail, each and every day. We believe that each and every cat deserves a home.

We even have a Senior-to-Senior Program, matching senior kitties with senior (humans) and it has been very effective.

Those kitties that do not find homes, we keep with us and care for them until they cross the rainbow bridge.

Our rescue group is small and completely staffed by volunteers. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit. Each and every donation helps us to help the kitties.

>> Care: We ensure our cats are clean and well-cared for. Animal Control has verified our rescue.
 
>> Health: We provide vaccinations and vet care for our cats.

>> Nutrition: We feed our animals high-quality foods.

>> Spay/Neuter: We spay/neuter all cats in our care.

>> Micro Chip: We chip all cats in our care.

>> Maintenance: We must provide electricity, heat, etc., at our facility(s).
